Wow that was a fast reply! Thanks! That sounds great to me.
That size is perfect. In fact, I might even shrink them down a little bit depending on how I place the image on the page. I'm basically trying to jazz up a planner/daily log type of thing. I figure if I am looking at this thing every day, the pages might as well be interesting to look at.
I am interested in jpegs the following images:
1 x Money Gal
1 x Retro Hostess
1 x Maybe, Maybe Not
1 x Retro Lady Cook
1 x Dancing Woman
1 x Retro Lady Typist
1 x Perfect Housewife
I will send the paypal payment of $14 shortly.
Thank you again for your excellent service.
Happy New Year!

First off, I love the art on your site. I need to use very small images in a non-commercial personal project. Is there by any chance a pricing break for thumbnail-sized jpegs? This project probably won't ever leave my house, and if possible I'd like to keep the costs down.

the question I have for you on what I bought is...
the carpenter with tools image is great the only thing is it appears that part of his leg (near the knee) is missing. do you have one which has that line drawn in completely???
also ....do you know what the font name is that you used for your RetroClipArt.com logo?
I really love that whole retro graphic feel and I cant find the name of a font like that...what is it?
please let me know about these issues.
thanks so much and I hope you do very well. your site is terrific!!

Dear Retro Clip Art,

about your royalty payment requirements in this respect.

I have been astounded by the quality of your images and would love to

Do you have set rates?
Do you accept payment following sale rather than advance payments?
Do you have any other terms or conditions of use that I should be

Look forward to hearing from you.

Thanks & regards

Your site is refreshing and simple. I have just a couple of questions. You say that the images are B&W so color can be customized. Do you offer the images in color as well? What is the best way to add color to the images? Secondly, what would be a ballpark figure of required royalties for using your images on baby t-shirts? ( This would be a homemade project for sale online, not a mass production kind of thing.)  Would the actual t-shirts have to list your company, would it be okay if the credit were given on an attached tag? I thought your answer was a good one. It's pretty much what I thought and
it's been my experience that you can't impose today's standards and
practices upon the past. The past is the way it is and nothing can change

Our booklet has a diversity of faces in the photographs so there won't be a
problem. In the future perhaps, for this group of clipart, you can craft
some ethnic images that look retro, as if they were done in the 50s.

Meanwhile we are very happy with the images we got from you and I'll send
you a pdf in a day or so when it is finished.

Hello Retro-Clip Art
Currently I am designing a t-shirt for resale and love some of your clip art images. Hi, my name is Jennifer Victores.  I am the owner of a magazine in Miami, Florida.  I came across your website doing a Google search.  I love your products and would like to have you as an advertiser in my publication.  Do you ship your stuff nation-wide?  If so, I think what you have could be a hit here in Miami.
Please call me directly so we can discuss this further.  I have personally not seen any type of advertisements for this kind of stuff.  I live looking at publications day in and day out.
I look forward to speaking with you!

The way you just sent it allowed me to use printing wizard and print it about 1 inch by one inch so please note it in my file.
Thanks for the great custumer service.

Hi Tony,

Thanks so much for the conversion and the Illustrator tip, very helpful!!!

Am sorry about Dan. You're right, you never know. I had a heart attack 3 years ago @ 48!!!
The initial visit to the ER said I was fine and sent me home. I went back several hours later,
got admitted and the next day had a stent in my heart! Had I not persisted with the Hospital,
I would have died that night. Doc said blockage was in the artery called the "widowmaker".
Called that because it never shows up as a heart attack and patients are sent home. When they
get up in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom or whatever, they collapse. YIKES!!

Anyway, thanks for the service you performed on the art!

Once again, thank you so much for your efforts regarding this matter.  If I should again need a clipart service, I’d use yours.  Thanks so much.

To whom it may concern:
Sometime shortly after Thanksgiving, I purchased a piece of clipart from you guys.  Not only was the website layout confusing to the point where I mistakenly bought an EPS file (which I couldn’t open), but when I acquired the software necessary to open such a file, the file was blank.  Essentially I paid you twelve dollars for a blank white screen.  As you can imagine, that simply won’t do.  Please let me know what information you need from me in order to allow me a no-charge re-download of a jpg. format image.  Thank you.

Subject: Re: Retro Clip Art question

Hi Retro Bob,
Everything is great and the tech department was super nice and gave me some transparent gifs which I am having a lot of fun with! I am only using them in black and white on our site, but I am really pleased with the way they look.
I have one question: I am using the Eiffel Tower image on about 50 percent of the pages on our web site, and it's just not punchy enough when it's near some of your other great images (Lady on Phone, Couple with Cocktails, etc.). If you find another Eiffel Tower image that is a little stronger/bolder, I would love to buy it ASAP.
(Background: For what it's worth, we have a site for tourists who rent apartments in Paris. We're called "Frenchy Rentals" and have heard from a few 60-somethings who told us our name sounds "old," midwestern, and not sophisticated, etc. None of the young people we rent to have a problem with it, (like us, they think it's kinda funny) and it seems to be fairly memorable since everyone else has used Paris in their domain name, so we are trying to sort of play up the "old" and embrace it. I am the worst web designer in the world, but our site does fine generating bookings, but I love the retro images and think that if what these folks are saying is true, then why not go all the way and give it a little retro twist?)
So, you probably didn't need to know all that, but that's why I'm revamping our site literally as we speak and looking for Eiffel Tower pics. I am going to probably purchase a few more images in the next week, so do let me know if by chance you find anything Paris-y! As I said, I am having such fun with all the images! I will wait to re-publish the site if you think you might find something. I can only imagine all the work that goes into making those images all crisp and new-looking!
Thanks again for all your help!

Subject: Re: Part 2: HELP! Mistake ordering EPS - need JPEGs

Dear Tony,
Thank again for all your help. The gifs seem to work best. (The pngs are fine in the browser but end up giving me an error message in the Yahoo! SiteBuilder program I am using.) My background color is a pale yellow (Hex color code: #FFFFCC; R255, G255, B204; H60, S20, B100...like I know what any of that means!), which I forgot to tell you -- if that still matters.
I hope if you ever need a client reference or want someone to write a nice coment for your site you just let me know. I work with tourists here every day and know what a pain in the butt customers like me can be. But I also know what good customer service is and you have gone above and beyond. I am going to have to invest in some books and some new software so next time I do this I won't feel like such a moron.
I will be sure to credit you guys on our soon-to-be-new-and-improved website - I hope you will not be mortified by my primative skills!! ;-) I'm sure I'll be a repeat customer, but I'll know what to order next time!
Thanks again,

Hi there,
I don't have Photoshop. I did purchase some images a couple days ago from another site and they were gifs. I am guessing this format is not available for purchase from you. Can you still help me, or am I out of luck? I actually requested these Paris images from Retro Bob and he prepared them for me. I really want to use them and was so excited about the images.
(Sorry for the delay of response, but I am living in France, and therefore have a time change issue.)

Hi Tony,

Thank you so much for your email regarding my payment on downloaded files yesterday. I am so impressed with your letter, as some companies don't respond so conscientiously, or at all! Yes, I had trouble, for some reason, using the same credit card 2 times in a row. So I entered 2 different credit cards and then paypal to get what I needed! Everytime I tried to use the same credit card a second time, it told me I was entering too many credit card numbers... and that was the reason it wasn't going thru. But I was entering the same amount of numbers.

Also, I guess I did hit "confirm" by accident two times, therefore billing me twice for some items. Thank you so much for crediting my account for those I hit "confirm" twice.

I look forward to using your website again... I found it yesterday doing a google search and was very excited to find it. Thanks again...

Yes, thank you. I noticed the 2 downloads as well, however it never downloaded the first time for some reason.
Maybe it's because as I tried to download the first time, I had to set up my account. It's like the process was interrupted
or something. Anyway I do only have one copy.

Please issue the refund to my card and thanks very much for your service!

Hi Tony

Very nice to speak to you and Maureen - all the way over in Vancouver!

Thank you for forwarding the pictures so promptly - these have now been
passed on to the editor. As you said, they are of excellent quality. We have
also received confirmation of payment.

I will wait to hear from Maureen with the formal invoice and agreement pdf
Is there anything we should know before we proceed to press - anything legal
which might affect us (she asked nervously!)

Thank you once again for being able to accommodate us and our budget
restraints and I do hope we will be able to purchase more images in the
future. I will forward two copies of the book for you on publication, which
is set to be end of February.

Best wishes
